Video game review: Rocket League

There is a video game that allows you to play soccer while driving recklessly in a rocket powered car. It’s called “Rocket League.” “Rocket League” is a sports game in which you are playing soccer as you are driving a car. You are driving a car as you are trying to score against a team of opposing cars. How the game works is simple.

Players work with a team of other players or computers to advance a ball down the field and attempt to score a goal against the opposing team. You can drive with a booster throughout the game. In order to refill the booster, there are areas with yellow/orange orbs. Run into those orbs and you get boosters. You can also jump as you are driving. The purpose of jumping is to prevent the ball either from entering your side or to prevent the ball from going into the goal you are defending. You can even drive up the walls in order to get the ball before it hits the ground and bounce back into the air.

Each player is put on either the blue team or the orange team. When the game begins, so do the engines. Once the game begins, both teams rush towards the ball in an attempt to be the first to put the ball in the opposing goal. The game continues with the cars hitting the ball in order to score goals until the timer runs out. When a goal is scored, there is an explosion in the goal and wording showing what team scored at the top of the screen. Then all the players are returned to their starting positions to repeat the cycle until the time runs out.

What makes “Rocket League” unique is that it incorporates rocket powered cars as the main components of the game (aside from the soccer field, ball and goal). Before each game, the player can choose which vehicle they want to use as well as how they want to customize it.

I have actually played “Rocket League” on the Wii, and have found the game easy to understand and the controls were easy to navigate. Not only that, but the concept of the game is soccer, so if you know the rules of soccer, the game concept should come easy to you. Even if you have never played soccer in your life, the game should come easy to you. My favorite part of the game is the ability to be able to jump, as it makes the game a lot more fun. The jumping ability can be used whenever, and if you are able to jump off a wall or just high enough, you can do some cool tricks in the air as well as stop the ball from entering either your side of the field or even the goal. I lost the last time I played, but the important thing is that it is a fun game, and I would absolutely play it again.
